Testing for Spark with a Screwdriver: A DIY Guide

Testing for spark using a screwdriver is a common technique used in automotive diagnostics to check the functionality of the ignition system.   1. Begin by ensuring that your vehicle is in park or neutral and the engine is turned off. Safety is paramount during this procedure.

  1. Start with one spark plug wire and gently pull it off the spark plug. Take caution not to damage the wire or the spark plug.
